CO/MOTION
co/motion held it’s first programming in the summer of 2021 after being a small project that kept a small portion of the Boston community dancing safely and affordably through the pandemic. In general our mission is to give dancers, particularly professionals, a space to immerse themselves in great dancing for the week with both opportunities for rigor as well as space for listening to the body. We explore how we want to show up in community without any tease of a job as a motivator, which leads to such pure connections and authenticity in movement. With our programming, we try to eliminate the idea that anyone wanting to attend must require specific background in their training, but rather emphasize diversity in movement, and uplift their artistic voices.
Each day of the intensive is composed of 4 class slots - Ballet, Upside Down, Contemporary, and a fourth class that changes annually. Our past faculty includes Mike Tyus, Joy Isabella Brown, Jamila Glass, Jun Kuribayashi, Adrian Hoffman, Shawn Ahern, Mark Caserta, Nicole Von Arx, and guest artist Luca Renzi. Heather is the Director of co/motion. co/motion is produced by Cantankerous Creatures & Hybridmotion.
